woke up and stretched out. It was a lovely sunny day outside and she felt so happy, so contented. She rolled over expecting her man of her dreams to be still sleeping next to her, but he wasn’t.
got out of bed, drew the curtains and went downstairs where was.
“Morning angel”
“Hey, what’s all this?”
“I thought we would go for a picnic”
“A picnic?”
“Yes don’t laugh, I’m trying to be romantic here”
“Aw sweetie you don’t have to try to be romantic, you naturally are”
“I know, so how about you go and get yourself dressed and then we can go”
“Go where?”
“Surprise”
“You know I hate surprises”
giggled as he watched her walk away from him, he turned and carried on getting the stuff ready. There was nothing that either loved more than spending time with one another.
carefully put wine glasses in and the last few things that were needed when
greeted him again.
“Wow you look great”
“Well I thought seeing as you made the effort to make us a picnic I would make the effort to look good”
“Let’s go then”
They walked out of their house hand in hand and out of the driveway, it was too nice a day to want to get in the car.
“So where you taking me?”
“It’s not far from here”
“Why have we never done this before?”
“What had a picnic? I don’t know I guess I never really thought about it”
“I’m glad you did”
They soon turned off the road and into some fields where they started to walk uphill and were soon greeted with a view of that reminded
why she had decided to move here. There was a view of the lake and forests and it was so peaceful.
“I can’t believe all this is just 10 minutes away from where we live, it’s so quiet”
“I know I hoped you would like it”
placed the blanket on the ground and then started getting the food out.
“Hmm champagne, this is a treat”
“Only the best for my girl”
always said that to her and she loved being referred to as his girl. They had been together 2 years now and had survived everything that had been thrown at them, obsessive fans, rumors, scandals and of course the media. They sure had their fair share of rough patches but their love was so strong that nothing could break it.
They ate whilst laughing and talking to each other, remembering the old times and dreaming of the future times.
They lost track of time and only noticed how long they had been gone when the sun was starting to set.
started to get a bit chilly.
“Here”
wrapped his jacket around her shoulders and hugged her to him.
“Thanks”
“You know there was another reason why I brought you here”
“There was?”
“Yeah”
whispered into her ear. He suddenly let go of her and gently turned her so she was facing him. Already he had tears in his eyes.
“
, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing’s wrong I’m just…I’ve dreamed of this moment non stop for the past 3 months but could never find the right time until now”
“What are you going on about?”
reached over into the picnic box and pulled out a velvet box,
couldn’t believe she hadn’t seen it earlier and her heart was now starting to race, this couldn’t be what she thought it was could it?
“I saw this and I knew it was the one straight away, just like when I saw you I knew you were the one straight away. I love you so much and couldn’t imagine my life if you weren’t in it, which is why I was hoping you would agree to become my wife”
“Yes of course I will”
They both started to cry and hugged each other. When they pulled back
shakily put the ring on her finger, perfect fit.
“It’s beautiful”
“I hoped you’d like it”
“I love it and I love you even more”
It was now an anniversary that
and
kept every year on that very day, come rain or shine, they would pack a picnic and go back to that very spot and relived that very moment over and over again.
