slowly walked along the waves of the ocean. He missed her, and strolling along the same area that they always went to didn’t help ease the emptiness. It had been weeks since said that she needed time to think. No phone call or any other contact from her, but he knew from his friends that she was missing him as much as he was. But why hasn’t she called if she missed him so much? wondered.
“There you are,” said slapping on the back. “We were looking all over for you. Where were you?”
“Just walking around, thinking,” said .
“You really should give her a call. She misses you.”
“If she does then she should call me. She was the one that called for a time out.”
“Maybe she wants you to be the one who calls. You’re missing her, too, right? You’ve got to tell her that. You two can’t just sit and wait for each other to call, somebody has got to make the move, and it might as well be you.”
walked towards the hotel. “I’m going to take a nap. I’ll meet you guys later tonight.”

In his room, took out his cell phone. “What would I say?” he said to himself. He walked back and forth around his room, thinking of what to say if she picked up her phone. “Maybe texting is better. That’s it, I’ll send her a text… But I still don’t know what to say,” groaned. He clicked to the write message menu and punched in ‘I miss you.’ “No, too short,” he said and deleted the message. ‘I love you.’ He deleted that one, too. “Man, how do I want to start out this message?” Before he could think more he punched in ‘Hi’ and clicked the send button.

looked at her blinking cell phone. She clicked to the inbox and found 1 unread message. Her heart beat quickened as she saw who the message was from. “Finally he misses me,” she said aloud. She opened the message and frowned. “Does it hurt to say more?”
“What’s up?” asked, placing the cups of coffee on the table.
sent me a message and it only says, Hi.”
laughed. “What are you going to say back to him? He’s the first mover here.” leaned over her friend to see what she was punching in the phone. “, you can’t write ‘Bye’ back to him. He’d think you’re leaving him.”
“If that’s all he wants to say to me after these weeks of silence then that’s it,” said. “I think he just started the message, dear, to see if you’re busy. , you’ve been waiting for him to be the first one to make contact with you right? He’s done the first move. You’ve got to give him a chance to say what he’s thinking.”
sighed. She really missed him that was true. It was so hard to hold herself back to call him or ask about him these few weeks. When they were together and there was an argument, she’d be the one calling to apologize. She was always the one to call for everything, it seemed like. When she asked for some time to think, she really wanted to try hard to see what was wrong and win her back. typed into the message screen, ‘Hey’ and hit send.

A few minutes later her phone rang. It was calling. took a deep breath and answered, “Hello?”
“Hey. It’s me,” said.
“Hi.” A moment of silence followed.
“How have you been?”
“Okay.”
, can we talk? I mean, face to face.”
“Yes, we need to talk.”
When hung up the phone sat down across from her. “I’m going to see tonight.”
“Good, you two need to talk,” said.
“What if he wants to end this? What if I waited too long to call him?”
“Oh, . Just tell him why you wanted the time out and tell him how you feel about him. You can’t live without him. You’re not the fun I used to know. You’ve lost the spark after you left him, . End this torture. I can’t even understand why you did it in the first place. I mean, you love him, and he loves you. Yeah, he hasn’t said those three words to you, but maybe it’s not the right time yet.”
“Those three words are important to me . I don’t know what he’s thinking, I can’t read his mind. His body language shows it, but I want to hear it, too. I’m not asking for too much right?”
patted on the shoulders. “No, I guess not. I just hope I can see the lively again. Look, no matter what happens, I’ll always be here for you.”
smiled. “Thanks .” She sipped the last of her coffee and got up. “I better go and prepare to meet him. I’ll talk to you later.”

took a seat in the restaurant. Sipping the water his head turned when the doors opened. There she was. He hadn’t seen her in weeks and she’s become more beautiful. His heart fluttered when her eyes spotted him. She smiled and walked to his table. They ordered food and ate slowly, having a silent meal. Finally broke the silence, “You wanted to talk.”
picked up his glass of wine and drank it. “Is our time out over?” he asked.
hesitated a bit. She wanted to confess his feelings. “If you want it to be, it can,” she replied.
He could see there was something in her eyes, that something was wrong. “Are you seeing someone else?”
stared at him, eyes-wide. “Is that your excuse to end our relationship? By accusing me?”
”Are you?”
“Why would I be?!” this time yelled, the whole restaurant was staring now. “Don’t you know how much I love you?” Tears flowed from her eyes. She couldn’t take this. She thought not being by him would make him understand how much of a difference it was without her. Sniffling loudly now, got up and ran outside.
!” called. “Wait! Don’t go!”
Running blindly because of her tears, all could hear were her sobs and the running footsteps behind her. “How could you?!” yelled running. soon caught up to her. He stopped her with his arms wrapped around the front of her waist.
“Don’t go, ,” he said, holding her tight.
tried to pull away, “Let go of me.” only held on tighter.
“Shh...,” he whispered into her ear. “I’m not going to let you go. I’m sorry, . I… I thought you didn’t want to be with me anymore.” When she calmed down he slowly turned her around. He lifted his hands to her face and wiped off the tears. “I love you.” looked into his eyes. Did she hear him right?
“These weeks you’ve been gone have been hell. I never realized how happy I was when you were by my side. When you left, a part of me left, too. Everyday I thought about you. I love you, . ”
A sigh of relief escaped . She smiled and jumped up to hug . “, I love you, too. I have waited so long to hear those words from you.”
hugged her tightly and stroked her hair. He lifted up her chin and said, “I’ll never stop saying those words to you. I love you.” leaned forward and kissed her lips. Those three words were the tie to their hearts.
