'Sorry, sorry, excuse me, sorry..' heard her coming from a mile away. It was the passenger who was late and had their flight delayed for thirty minutes at least. 'Ah, here we go' she stopped in front of him, opened the hand luggage box and put her bag in it. She took off her coat, propped it in the box and closed it. She sat down and put on her safety belt. She only noticed then, her neighbour was staring at her.
'Hello,' she smiled politely. 'Hi' he smiled back at her. 'You had a good time in Sweden?' she asked. 'Yeah, we had' nodded. 'First time here actually' he added. 'Really? It's beautiful isn't it? I bet you loved it. I could tell you so many beautiful places here, but you have to discover them yourself.' the girl smiled and turned her face forward to listen to the safety instructions. 'Well, actually the only thing I've seen is the recording studio' told her. 'Have you, are you in some kind of band?' the girl asked. 'Yes I am, together with 2 friends and two guys from Dublin' answered. 'Cool, boyband then?' she smiled. 'If that’s what you want to call it' laughed. 'Well yeah, I would' nodded.
They laughed. 'I'm , ' introduced himself to her. ', ' the girl introduced herself to him. 'This is going to be a very fun flight' smiled 'Yeah, I think you’re right' nodded
'So, why were you in Sweden?' asked, as the plane had just become airborne and his ears had popped open. 'I'm travelling the world. I needed to get out. Chasing myself I call it. I finished my studies and didn't know what to do with myself, so I decided to see a bit of everything' shrugged, but got a feeling there was more to why she was going everywhere but home. 'So where have you been so far?' he continued asking. '

'Right, well if you’re a famous singer with your band and I'm done chasing myself around the world, give me a call' scribbled her number down on a paper of her notepad, tore it out and gave it to . 'I'll do that' smiled and folded the paper into the book he had begun to read before had arrived. The plane landed and the passengers waited patiently for the permission to leave the plain.
At the luggage depot said goodbye to 'Well, speak soon then’ she winked as she kissed him on the cheek. 'Yeah, we'll do that' smiled. As his four friends had also got their suitcases they left the luggage depot, searched to see if was still around and in the crowd of people waiting for their loved ones he saw her hugging a man very tightly. It was a split second in which felt his heart crumble to pieces. However, they had made a deal and he was going to keep it.

*2002* 4 1/2 years later ...

'You can put those there' pointed to a box full of books. 'Allright' nodded, took the box and started unpacking the books. As he checked every book whether it had loose contents, a half torn note fell out of one of them. 'What's this?' closed the book and put it in the bookcase. 'What's what?' asked, finishing unloading a box that had contained the numerous awards that the band had gotten over the first few years of their career. 'This' picked up the piece of paper. ' ? When did you date her?' looked up at , who's eyes had got the size of teacups. 'That's that girl I met on the plane. I was supposed to give her a ring when we made it big' he grabbed the paper from his friends hands. 'Well about time you did it then, don't ya think' winked. 'Yeah.. yeah I might' nodded. Remembering the last moment he had seen , he wasn't sure whether he should. For all he knew, she was happily married with a few kids playing in the garden. '..well this one's empty, where can I put it?' asked, bringing back from his daydream. 'Oh..erm.. put it on the other empty boxes by the front door. I'm gonna store them up somewhere in the garage' said, looking down at the paper, remembering the digits off by heart and silently deciding to give her a call that evening.
About five hours later, sitting in his half empty bedroom, pulled the note from his back jeans pocket and sat down. He picked up the phone that was still stood on his nightstand and pressed the buttons of the telephone number had given him years before. 'Mrs speaking, how can I help you?' an older woman's voice answered. '..ermm..yes. Ehmm... this is speaking. Is there?' asked, feeling like he was a little schoolboy asking his best friend to come on the phone to arrange a play date. 'Wait a moment... there's someone called on the phone for you' heard the older woman yell. ', really, is that you? You remember?' next thing he heard was an exited younger voice. 'Yeah, I remember' he said, smiling softly..

'I can't believe this, I thought you'd never call' smiled hearing him breathe on the other end of the line. 'Well, I gotta confess something there. My friend found the note with your number on it in a book. I had forgotten all about it' replied. 'Ah yeah I remember, you putting that in that book. You were reading 'The Beach' back then' said. 'I was?' asked. 'Yeah, well you haven't read much of it on the flight as we were talking most of it.' sniggered. 'That flight was, what is it? Four and a half years ago?' laughed laughed with him. 'So are you busy with the band or is there a small opening in your agenda, so that we can meet up?' asked. 'Well we've got some time off. When would you like to meet up?' asked. 'Well how about tonight?' asked.
'Tonight's fine by me'. They agreed to meet up at a restaurant in the centre of London at 7pm. 'See ye tonight then' said as he ended the call. 'See ye soon' replied and then hung up.

'Who was that?' asked her daughter. 'He's a guy I met on the plane. Four and a half years ago' told her mother. 'Ah right' 'He's in a band mother, we had fantastic conversations about anything, he was real easy to talk to, goodlooking, smart, witty and funny. He's the perfect son-in-law really. I gave him my number and said to call me when he and the band had made it big. And he's done that' shrugged. 'I've seen that look before . I don't like it, everytime you've had that smile, you got hurt. I don't want to see that happening again' warned her daughter. 'Mum, he's not my boyfriend. He's got millions of beautiful girls around him. He's not gonna want me' tried to convince her mother, she had no feelings for this man yet she couldn't deny that she hadn't been attracted to him back then. She felt excitement welling up inside of her like an itch that had crawled under her skin. 'Bet you’re going to get yourself ready as from of now?' her mother asked her, like she had read her mind. 'I might' tried to keep a straight face, but her mother heard her giggle as she left the kitchen. A few hours later left the house hoping she didn't look like she made an effort.

had arrived early, waiting for her to arrive. He was nervous about meeting her, he wasn't sure whether he'd recognize her. 'Well look who we have here' a voice came from behind him, as he was examining the doors of the restaurant. knew that it was her and he turned round. 'I know, surprising isn't it?' he replied. smiled broadly and hugged him. 'How are you?' she asked when she pulled back. 'Fine, good. Great. Feeling like an idiot, shall we go in?' asked, wondering why he couldn't string a sentence together. 'Yeah, we best do that' agreed and let him lead her inside
When they were sat at a table opened conversation. 'I see the years have done you well'. 'Yeah, can't complain' smiled. 'So, the band made it big huh?' she continued. 'Yeah, our debut album did well. We're up to our 3rd album now. It's doing really well. Gonna shoot a cool video soon. We'll be musketeers, we're gonna learn how to swordfight, it's going to be so cool' smiled hearing talk like he was a little boy. His eyes were lit with twinkling lights, it looked so adorable. She felt that same glowy excitement deep down in her belly and realized the palms of her hand were kind of clammy. 'You ok?' woke her up from her daydream and realized she had been staring at him. 'Sorry' she felt her cheeks redden. smiled, he found was even cuter if she blushed. Like on the plane, their conversations were easy, for both it felt like they hadn't been apart one day since they met first. 'So, how did you get here?' asked when they stood outside. 'I took a cab' answered. 'Have you?' smiled taking a step closer to her. 'Yeah, I did' nodded. It was one of those moments, like in a movie scene when the guy and the girl are totally into eachother and are about to share their first kiss; 'wanna go home?' asked huskily, his mouth only inches away from her lips. 'No' she shook her head 'Good' smiled and engulfed her into a passionate kiss. If it had been the closing scene of a romantic movie, violins would be playing and fireworks would've been set off behind them, but that didn't happen. Like love-sick teenagers they bounced over to 's car, got in, drove to 's home, where they shared a long passionate night...

'Morning' smiled softly as she was woken up by a small kiss on her lips. 'Morning beautiful' smiled back at her. allowed him to pull her into his embrace. 'You should know I'm keeping you' whispered in her ear. turned her face to him 'You’re keeping me?' she raised an eyebrow. 'Yeah, I'm not letting go of you ever again. You ready for that?' he asked. 'More than ready' smiled. kissed the top of her head, nuzzled his nose into her neck and they fell back to sleep...
