sat looking out the window of her office, it was Christmas Eve and she couldn’t wait to get home to . Now that the holidays were here it meant that he was done with promotion for the new album and was hers for the next month before touring began. She was excited that they were going to be spending so much time together, and that tonight was going to be just the two of them before they spent Christmas day with his family.

placed the candles in the middle of the table, tonight was going to be a special night for him and he had been planning it for months. He looked at the clock and smiled “only one hour until my beautiful lady comes home to me” he smiled heading back to the kitchen to finish preparing the meal for their romantic dinner.

At ten minutes to five popped her head into ’s office finding her staring out the window, looking at the city all lit up from the Christmas lights. “Hey you” said breaking from her daze. turned around in the chair to face her friend. “Hey, you going home?” she asked.

“Sure am” smiled “Just wanted to say goodbye and wish you a Merry Christmas.” stood from her chair and hugged her friend “Thank you and Merry Christmas to you too. Are you going to visit your family?” she asked.

nodded “Yeah, going over to my mum and dad’s tonight for dinner and then tomorrow the whole family is coming over” she smiled. “What about you? Are you and doing anything special?”

nodded her head “Yes, we’re having our own Christmas tonight, just the two of us and then tomorrow we’re going to join his family.”

“Sounds like fun” said “I’ll see you Monday then, it’s great having a three day weekend for the holiday.” smiled and nodded in agreement “See you Monday hun and have a great weekend.”

watched walk out of the office and turned her attention back to her desk, she looked at the clock and saw it was nearly five, so she turned off her computer and grabbed her coat. She bundled up and headed for the door, locking up the office she let out a happy sigh as a smile spread across her face. She loved Christmas and had a feeling that this Christmas was going to be one to remember.

placed the finishing touches to the dinner table, placing the vase of red roses in the middle, with the long, slim white candles on either side. He filled their plates with spaghetti and pasta sauce and placed covers over them to keep them warm. He lit the candles and dimmed the lights, before heading over to the massive, high tech sound system and putting on the local radio station that had been playing nonstop Christmas music since November 25th. He then made his way to the living room where he started a nice warm fire in the fireplace for them to enjoy after dinner and turned on the Christmas lights that were hanging on the tree that they had decorated just three weeks ago.

pulled her car into the driveway and sat admiring the house that she and had shared for two years. She stepped out and locked the car before making her way towards the front door. She still to this day couldn’t believe that of Westlife had fallen for her three years ago at a Christmas party they both attended, raising money for kids who were battling life threatening diseases such as cancer. Westlife had performed for everyone who attended including some of the kids who were well enough to leave the hospital. had caught ’s eye right away when she saw him sitting and talking with a few of the kids, treating them like they were the most normal people in the world. He had looked up and caught her staring at him causing her to blush fiercely. He gave her a wink as he stood before making his way to the stage to join his band mates. As he sang he looked right at her, like he was singing just for her and afterwards he had approached her. They hit it off right away and exchanged numbers at the end of the night. He promised he’d call and much to her surprise a few days later he did and as they say the rest is history!

heard her car pull up in the driveway and walked to the door to greet her. He opened it just as she was about to turn the knob, greeting her with his famous smile. smiled as she saw him standing before her. “Welcome home sweetheart” he said as he leaned in and kissed her softly on the lips. returned his kiss as he pulled her inside from the cold and shut the door. “So good to be home” she smiled as he helped her take her coat off “And dinner smells delicious” hung her coat up in the closet and took her hand “I hope it’s as good as it smells” he joked leading her to the dinner table. “You know you’re a fantastic cook and I’ll love it, I always do” she replied with a smile.

led to the dinner table, she gasped as she saw the romantic setting waiting for them, candles, flowers, music, wine and dimmed lights, all the essentials for a romantic night. “….you did all this?” she asked shocked. “Sure did” he smiled pulling her chair out for her “This is going to be a Christmas I want you to remember for years to come.” He said as he placed a kiss on her cheek and took the cover off her plate. “Spaghetti and meatballs.” He said proudly. giggled “My favorite, kind of reminds me of a movie Mr. .” gave her a cheeky smile “What movie would that be?” he asked playing confused “Hmm, Lady and the Tramp” she giggled as she picked up her fork and began to eat. gave her a wink as he filled their glasses with wine and began to eat his own meal.

After they had finished dinner stood from the table and held his hand out for her to take. looked at him curiously and placed her hand in his, pulled her from the chair and with his free hand grabbed their glasses of wine, leading her to the living room. “Have a seat” he said as they stood before the couch. “I’m just going to throw a few more logs onto the fire.” nodded and curled up on the couch as she watched him, a smile on her face and that feeling of love for him running through her body. joined her on the couch and pulled her into his arms, he placed a kiss on her head as she rested her head on his chest and held her tightly. let out a sigh, she was content and happy to be in his arms. ran his fingers along her shoulder as he held her, thinking of when the perfect time would be to present his surprise for her.

As they lay cuddled on the couch together, the warm fire burning and the Christmas lights twinkling looked out the window and saw that a new snow was falling. “Look sweetheart, it’s snowing again.” He said motioning towards the large picture window that looked out into the back yard. “I love a fresh snow” smiled “Especially on Christmas Eve for Christmas morning. “It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.” She smiled snuggling back up to . “It makes everything look so nice” said nodding in agreement.

As they lay wrapped in each other’s arms a new song began to play softly in the background

wrapped her tighter in his arms, holding her as close to him as possible. “I love being like this with you, cuddled up on the couch, with a warm fire and a glass of wine” spoke as she looked up to gazing into his shinning eyes. smiled as he gazed back into her beautiful eyes that were shinning like diamonds, his heart swelling with love for the beauty in his arms that had stolen his heart three years ago. “I love this feeling too”

“I have a gift for you” whispered as he looked at her. “!” she scolded “We said no gifts this year!” shook his head and smiled “I couldn’t help it, I saw it and knew I had to get it for you, it’s hidden in the tree, go find it” he said. slipped out of his embrace and walked towards the tree, feeling like a kid again, and excited that he had bought her something even though she said not to, but she also felt nervous She stood before it surveying it, wondg what she was looking for, but also feeling nervous, there was a different vibe around them tonight, which both scared and excited her. “It’s hidden in the branches near the front” he said giving her a clue. looked closely in the branches and caught sight of a small box, she reached her hand in and pulled it out. She turned back towards , but as she turned she found him standing right in front of her.

took the box from her hand and opened it revealing a diamond ring that sparkled from the lights on the tree and from the flame of the fire. gasped as her left hand flew to her mouth. smiled lovingly at her as the nerves hit him, he took her right hand in his as he got down on one knee. ’s stomach filled with butterflies and tears filled her eyes as she realized what was doing.

looked at watching his every move. looked into ’s eyes as his heart beat began to rise. “, at this time three years ago, you captured my heart. I was blown away by your beauty, your kindness, but most of all your love for me , not Westlife. I’ve loved you from the moment I set eyes on you and I feel that we share something special, something that no one has but us.” He paused as he regained his composure, his emotions beginning to let lose. “These last three years have been amazing. I know I don’t deserve you, yet you give me your love everyday no matter what my mood is, you can handle my crazy life outside of us and I know that there is no one else for me but you.” He paused again as he looked into her eyes, seeing the tears glistening in her eyes, threatening to fall. He gave her a small smile and took a deep breath “I know that I don’t want to spend my life with anyone else but you, I love coming home to you after the long tour, even after a night out with the lads or a trip around town…so for my gift this year… all I ask is for your hand in marriage, will you marry me?” he asked as he held the ring before her, gazing into her eyes, seeing all the love she had for him shinning in them.

was speechless as she looked at the man she loved with all her heart, down on one knee asking her the most important question of her life, the one question she dreamed he would one day ask her. nodded her head as the tears fell from her eyes down her cheeks. “Yes , I’ll marry you!” she exclaimed. leaned in and placed her lips on his, feeling him wrap his arms around her waist and pull her down onto his knee as they shared a kiss full of love and passion, feeling that warm feeling of love flood from her toes, up her spine, to her stomach to her heart.

As she pulled away from their kiss, reached his hand up to her face and wiped her tears away gently with his thumb as he smiled at her. “You know I didn’t need a ring for you to ask me to marry you” she said as she looked at him. “I know” smiled “But the moment had to be perfect and it wasn’t complete without it and besides, everyone needs to know that you are taken.” let out a giggle as she wrapped her arms around his neck “And with my hand in marriage I’m also giving you my heart, which you’ve had from the moment you looked at me” she whispered against his lips as she locked her lips on his again.

“It’s all I want” said “Your hand in marriage, your heart and you, forever and ever” he said as he held her on his knee. “Now, for the most important part” he smiled taking the ring out of the box. “This ring needs a home and to be shown off” he smiled as he took her hand again and slipped the diamond on her finger, placing a kiss on it as it slid on perfectly into place. “It’s beautiful” she smiled as she admired the diamond sparkling in the glow of the fire. “Not half as beautiful as you” he whispered huskily as he kissed her softly again.

“Merry Christmas to the future Mrs. ” he smiled as he held her tightly. “And Merry Christmas to you too Mr. .” She said kissing him softly. “What a Christmas it is” he whispered as he rested his forehead against hers, their eyes gazing into the other’s, glistening in the light. “I love you” said . “I love you too” he said with a smile on his face, as his heart fluttered with pride and love for the woman in his arms. “I’m sorry I didn’t get you anything” she mumbled. “You’re the best gift possible” he murmured against her lips as he softly brushed his lips against hers, getting lost in the feeling of love that was radiating from her for him and from him for her.
