Kian smiled excitedly as he placed the finishing touches to the guest room, hoping that his guest would be spending the evening in his bed rather than at the end of the hall. Stepping into the hallway he looked around the top floor, everything seemed to be how he wanted it. Pleased he looked at his watch seeing that she would be arriving any minute now, anxiously he made his way to the kitchen checking on the wine chilling in the fridge before pulling two glasses from the cupboard. Smiling to himself as he thought back to the conversation a few weeks previous he felt the butterflies of excitement fill his stomach.

“So the lads and I are planning on hitting one of the pubs to celebrate my birthday.” Kian informed her as they finished up one of the many band related meetings they’d been taking part in recently.

“Is that so?” asked raising an eyebrow. “Am I going to be dealing with the press?” she asked knowing how rowdy the boys could get.

“Nah.” Laughed Kian. “We’ll behave.”

“Right.” Laughed looking around the table at the four grinning lads who she knew all too well.

“So you going to come up to Sligo for the party?” Kian asked hopeful.

looked around the table pondering the idea.

“Come on , you know you want to.” Shane smiled. “A night of fun with us? Who wouldn’t want to be apart of it?”

“I’ve spent plenty of drunken nights with the four of you.” laughed.

“But look at it as you off the clock as our PA and just there as a friend.” Nicky suggested knowing how badly Kian wanted her to be there.

“Yeah come on up.” Mark begged. “Come let your hair down with us, it’s great fun up there.”

“You can even stay at my place.” Kian suggested. “I mean I’ve got a guest room that’s never used.”

looked around the table at the pouts and puppy dog eyes.

“Alright.” She smiled caving. “I could use a night of fun with my four favorite guys.”

The guys gave a cheer hearing her answer.

“We promise you won’t be disappointed.” Shane added giving her a wink.

“Will the girls be there?” she asked hopeful.

“Of course.” Mark nodded

“Ok guys, I’ll see you in two weeks for the big birthday party.” smiled at them before they all left the room heading off for dinner together.

Pulling into the city limits of Sligo felt the butterflies in her tummy take flight, the conversation of this night from two weeks ago filling her mind as a smile crept across her face. It’d been two weeks since she’d last seen the lads, but she’d missed Kian most. She couldn’t help that she’d fallen for him, but she’d kept her feelings in check not letting him know how much he meant to her, her job meant too much to her to risk having a relationship with him. Sighing dreamily she thought of the handsome man, his broad shoulders, strong arms, amazing smile, the most gorgeous blue eyes she’d ever seen, complete with perfect bum and the most kissable lips she’d ever set eyes on.

“Damn it Kian.” She cursed having thought those thoughts. “If only you knew what you did to me.” She said aloud.

Following the directions of the GPS she maneuvered her way through the streets, taking in the sights of the small town, so welcoming and comforting. Arriving at his house she pulled her car up the drive her heart beat increasing, the thought of being alone in the same house with him scared and excited her. Bringing the car to a stop she looked up at the beautiful house, fit for a king, it was everything she’d ever imagined living in, and that was just the outside! Taking a deep breath to calm her nerves and pounding heart she stepped from the car closing the door behind her as she pushed the button for the trunk release on her key chain.

Hearing the sounds of a car door slamming Kian made his way to the front door to greet his guest. “Did you have any trouble finding it?” he asked stepping onto the porch climbing down the few wooden steps making his way towards her on the gravel drive.

looked up over the trunk seeing him walking towards her, her knees went week by just his mere presence and he was as gorgeous as ever in a pair of baggy jeans and t-shirt, blond locks blowing slightly in the breeze as he walked. “None at all.” She smiled slamming the trunk closed. With the bag in her hand she walked towards him, nervous on the inside but staying collected on the outside. “Your house is gorgeous Ki.” She smiled climbing the five wooden steps to the porch.

“I like it.” He smiled stepping to her side. “Let me take that for you.” He offered being the perfect gentleman; he took her bag from her hand leading her into the house.

Stepping inside looked around amazed at how beautiful and cozy the place was. She felt the warmth and comfort it offered, this was definitely a place she could spend a lifetime in. Kian closed the door behind her; setting the bag on the steps he turned to face her. “Would you like a tour?” he asked. nodded.

Kian began the tour of his house, showing her all the rooms of the bottom level first, the large family room complete with a fire place for those cold winter nights, the dining room with a breathtaking view of the Irish country side, an office displaying all of Westlife’s awards and albums along with a game room. Stopping in the kitchen he showed her the view of the back garden. “Would you like a drink?” He asked. “Glass of wine perhaps?”

“That’d be great.” Nodded turning to face him, watching as he grabbed the bottle of wine from the fridge, popping the cork he poured them both a glass. “Here you go.” He smiled handing her a glass.

“Thank you.” smiled taking a sip.

“If you’d like I can show you the upstairs and your room.”

Nodding followed him down the hallway towards the stairs. Kian grabbed her bag leading her up to the top level. “I hope this room suits you.” He said leading her to the guest room just down the hall from his room. Stepping in felt butterflies fill her tummy, the room was cozy and inviting, a queen size bed perfectly made with a view of the back garden offering a breath taking landscape of the hills in the back of it. “And there’s a bathroom right there.” He informed pointing to a door that stood open to the left of the room.

“It’s perfect.” She assured.

“The master bedroom is just down the hall.” He informed leading her back down the hall towards his room just pass two more bedrooms and a bathroom.

stepped inside looking around at it, to the left was a set of French doors leading out to the balcony, one door propped open slightly allowing the warm spring breeze in. The king size bed was perfectly made as well, so inviting, bringing visions to her mind of them rolling around on the sheets. Feeling her body temperature rise she quickly looked at her watch. “I suppose I should freshen up and change so we can head off.” She smiled. “Thanks for the tour Ki.”

“Yeah, you’re welcome, see you soon.” He nodded watching her dash off down the hall towards the guest room. Releasing a deep breath Kian shook the thoughts from his head before heading for the bathroom to shower and freshen up as well.

Standing before the closed door Kian hesitated before gently knocking. “ are you ready?” he asked calmly.

“Yeah, be just a second.” She called back checking her appearance once more. Taking a deep breath she took her purse from the dresser, walking towards the door she pulled it open finding a handsomely dressed Kian stood before her, he was dressed casual in a pair of faded baggy blue jeans with a black button down long sleeve cotton shirt.

Kian took a step back as the door opened; the sight of her knocked the wind from his chest. He took a moment to look her up and down, the black skirt sat perfectly on her waist flowing out at the bottom just above her knees accompanied by a light pink flowing top. “You look great.” He beamed keeping his feelings in check.

“You clean up well yourself.” smiled back at him, feeling her heart beat quicken.

“Shall we then?” asked Kian offering her his arm. Linking her arm with his she allowed him to lead her down the stairs to the awaiting cab.

Being the gentleman he was Kian helped her into the car before sliding in beside her, as they were driven to town they made small talk as took in the sights, Kian filling her in on the history of the town. The car came to a stop before the small pub, Kian paid the driver before stepping out and helping out, linking arms with her again he led her into the pub where they were greeted by shouts from many friends and family who had showed up for the night’s celebration. Kian was quickly mobbed by his family hugging and kissing him. crept out of the large mob looking around the bar for any familiar faces smiling as she found the guys and girls gathered at a table near the bar; joining them she hugged them all in greeting.

“Glad you came .” Shane smiled. “You’re going to have a great time tonight.”

“Looking forward to it.” smiled pouring herself a glass of beer from the pitcher sitting on the table.

“So is Ki being a good host then?” asked Maggie looking sideways at .

“He’s been a perfect host and gentleman.” nodded. “But I’ve only been in town for a few hours.”

The lads had left the girls at the table taking time to mingle with the townsfolk, the girls began to chat, but found herself watching Kian mingle his way through the bar, talking and laughing with his friends and family. Seeing him stood talking to an attractive blond she felt jealousy run through her body. She saw the way the girl flirted with him, the touches she placed on his arm, the hug that lasted just a bit longer than it should have, the way he smiled that gorgeous smile of his as he talked with her. sighed deeply trying to control the pounding of her heart and the fast pumping of blood through her veins, she wanted so badly to jump off the stool and attack the girl.

Maggie looked at seeing her off in a daze, following her eyes she knew where they had landed, it was well known between the girls and lads that Kian and had feelings for each other, problem was neither would admit it to the other. Neither had relationships that lasted long. For the guys were threatened by her job, they couldn’t handle a woman who made more money than them and traveled the world with four handsome, successful men. For Kian it was just a long list of women who were after him for his fame and money, they were all shallow, not one of them understanding his feelings or needs. It had been endless unsuccessful relationships for the pair, each of them feeling jealousy for the other’s partner at the time.

The sound of a glass being tapped made everyone in the bar quiet down as Shane stood before everyone. “It’s time for the cake” He informed smiling. “Kian can you come up here please?” Shane instructed pointing to a table in the middle of the room. “And of course you can’t have cake without a song, so everyone join me in wishing Kian a happy birthday. One, two, three Happy Birthday to you…” Shane began to lead the bar in a round of the song, as the cake was brought out to the table topped with thirty candles.

Kian grinned seeing his mam walking towards him with the cake in her arms, he loved her cakes, she made him one every year, it just wasn’t a birthday without one. He watched as she placed it on the table before him smiling proudly at him. “Happy birthday.” She smiled kissing his cheek.

“Thanks mam.” He smiled placing a kiss on her cheek.

“Alright Ki, blow ‘em out.” Shane said looking at his friend.

“And don’t forget to make a wish!” Mark shouted from across the room.

Closing his eyes Kian thought about what he wanted most for his birthday, to call his, opening them he gazed at her for a few seconds over the cake seeing that soft smile of hers that made his heart flutter, taking a deep breath he blew out the candles as everyone in the room cheered and clapped.

After having a slice of cake with his family Kian set off around the bar again approaching the table where the girls were sat. “Hello ladies.” He smiled kissing them all on the cheek. “Thanks for coming out tonight.”

“It’s all because we love you.” Maggie smiled. “Glad you could finally join us.” She teased.

Kian gave a chuckle. “Sorry, when you’re the guest of honor there’s many people to greet.” He smiled. “Having a good time then?” asked Kian looking aside at .

“Yeah, it’s a nice friendly place.” She smiled. “Everyone is very nice.”

“How was the cake?” He asked seeing the empty plates and forks sat in the middle of the table, evidence that they’d enjoyed it.

“Fantastic.” smiled. “I heard your mum made it.”

Kian nodded smiling proudly. “Yeah, she makes me one every year, pretty much the best part of the day.” He smiled. “Would you like to dance?” Asked Kian hearing the slow music in the background, he wanted more than anything to hold her in his arms.

“Sure.” Nodded feeling nervous, the thought of being so close to him would surely overwhelm her.

Kian held his hand out for her to take; placing her hand in his she slid off the stool her stomach doing flipping with excitement and nerves as Kian lead her to the dance floor where a few other couples were dancing. Placing his hands on her waist he gave her a smile as she slid her arms around his neck. Together they swayed to the music, both feeling their passion for the other reaching its peak. Blushing she rested her head on his shoulder trying to regain her composure finding herself inhaling the intoxicating scent of his aftershave. Kian moved his hands, wrapping his arms around her, holding her just a bit closer, he took in the scent of her perfume, feeling his heart beat quicken.

“Thanks for the dance.” whispered lifting her head to look at him as the song came to an end; it had gone way too quickly. Kian released her from his grip as she stepped away heading back towards the table. Kian reached out for her before she was too far away grabbing her hand and pulling her back to him. gasped in surprise feeling herself being pulled back to him.

“Wait .” He whispered.

“What is it Ki?” she asked gently, looking at him questioningly.

“Look , I love you.” He blurted out. “It drives me crazy seeing you with another guy; I hate every one of them that’s dated you or even looks at you.”

stood stunned by his confession before a smile spread across her face, her heart was pounding harder than it ever had, she was sure it would burst out of her chest, she never thought she’d hear him say those words to her and now that he had her heart was ready to explode. “I love you too Ki.” She confessed stepping closer to him with pink cheeks. “And if it makes you feel better…I hate every girl you’ve been with or looks at you.”

Grinning Kian wrapped his arms around her, leaning his face closer to her he kissed her tenderly. They felt the burst of electricity run through their body as their lips slowly caressed. Kian pulled her closer to him, his hand caressing her back. ’s arms slipped around his neck, her fingers playing with the hair at the back of his neck as the kiss deepened.

“Well would you look at that.” Smirked Shane causing everyone at the table to look towards the dance floor.

“Seems the birthday boy got his wish.” Nicky smiled.

Breaking apart the pair stared into each other’s eyes as they caught their breath.
“Wow.” He breathed smiling.

“Amazing.” smiled blushing.

As the late hours of the morning presented themselves the pub began to clear out, Kian escorted out to an awaiting cab helping her in before sliding in beside her. Neither could take the tension rising between them and soon found their arms wrapped around each other and lips locked together, kissing hungrily as the cab moved towards home.

Feeling the car come to a stop Kian broke the kiss, grinning he paid the driver giving him a nice tip before stepping out of the car pulling with him. Feeling like high school kids the pair climbed the steps to the front door, both floating on the clouds they were so happy. Entering the house Kian led her up the stairs and down the hall to his bedroom, pulling her close they kissed passionately as their hands began to wander, fingers worked to unbutton and unzip. Gently Kian pushed her down on the bed placing his body upon hers, staring into her beautiful eyes he lowered his head kissing her tenderly feeling a shiver run down his spine as her hands caressed his back. Slowly he entered her joining their bodies together feeling the surge of passion that rushed through both of them leading them to a night spent rolling around beneath the sheets making love, Kian’s birthday wish coming true.

Waking the next morning their bodies tangled together beneath the crumpled sheets the couple shared a tender kiss. “Happy birthday.” whispered with a smile on her face.

“Indeed it was.” Kian grinned rolling on top of her as he kissed her lips firmly, his hands gliding down her body coming to rest on her hips. “I couldn’t have asked for anything better.”

wrapped her arms around his neck, smiling she looked into his dazzling blue eyes seeing a sparkle she’d never seen before. “So does this mean…”

“That we’re together.” Kian finished her question. nodded in response. “If you’ll have me.” Kian stated giving her a serious look; he knew it was a challenge dating him.

“Wouldn’t want anyone else.” grinned causing Kian to smile back at her. “I love you Ki, nothing can change that.”

Hearing her say those words to him again made him melt, it was genuine love, she wasn’t just saying it and he loved her too. “I love you too babe.” He said capturing her lips once again; his birthday wish had most certainly come true.
